We made It!

Well, after 24 hours of traveling, we have arrived in Sao Paulo. We have rested up some, enjoyed great fellowship with some wonderful Brazilian friends, and have feasted on wonderful Brazilian steak. Tomorrow we leave for the interior, where our work will begin on Monday morning.

Pray for us as we travel 6 hours in Brazilian traffic, and worship with wonderful Brazilians on Sunday night. I will try to post some pictures tomorrow night after we get settled in. I have had a hard time getting internet connection today.

It is after midnight here, and I am sitting on a porch in Sao Paulo, the second largest city in the world. All around me are the sounds of urban life-- a soccer party down one nearby street, with people cheering for their teams, and arguing about referee's calls. I hear a loud band and much noise coming from another street behind me. These are common sounds in the urban world, and remind me how many there are all around us that need our Saviour. That's the Commission the Lord has left us with. That is why we go.

More tomorrow se Deus quiser.

God Bless you. Thank you for your prayers.

Hi,
My name is Linda Smith. In the spring of 2000 my husband Joey and daughter Kyle worked with you via First Baptist Concord. I was thrilled to read your email that you are returning to Brazil. I am praying for you and your team.
I am looking forward to your posts and photo's.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and the group there. We have wonderful memories of our visits and involvement in your work in Brazil. Only wish we could be with you this trip. Show lots of pictures. Maybe we will recognize some of the people in them. We love you!
